A subset of lambs euthanased at 5 days of age further showed that low PCN decreased the amount of peri-renal fat (P < 0.05) and increased liver mass (P < 0.05) while high PCN increased neck thymus and ovary mass (P < 0.05). Neonatal lambs from low PCN ewes returned faster to their mothers after release (P < 0.05) and contacted the udder in the shortest time (P < 0.05). Significant interactions between PCN treatment and sex (P < 0.05) and between PCN treatment and ewe age (P < 0.05) were also observed for time lambs took to follow the ewe. Survival of lambs was similar but potential differences may have been masked by favourable weather conditions. In conclusion, this study provides evidence of significant changes in lamb growth and development dependent on PCN and, for the first time, links these changes with significant changes in behaviour of the neonate. The impact of these effects on lamb survival and potential reproductive capacity of female offspring remains to be determined.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:35:32 AEDT ]]> The emotional stroop task: assessing cognitive performance under exposure to emotional content https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:29290 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:32:53 AEDT ]]> Altered interleukin-18 levels are associated with cognitive impairment in chronic schizophrenia https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:29669 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:32:21 AEDT ]]> The effect of close approaches for tagging activities by small research vessels on the behavior of humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28365 Megaptera novaeangliae) (n = 29) were used to determine the effect of close approaches for tagging by research vessels on their diving, movement and surface behaviors. Groups of whales were tagged, using digital recording tags, by small research vessels, as part of a behavioral response study. In groups that were approached for tagging, temporary changes in movement behaviors during close approaches were found, with subsequent recovery to “pre-approach” levels. In female-calf groups more long-term changes in travel speed were found. Results suggest that, although close approaches for tagging by small vessels may cause behavioral changes in humpback whales, this change may be small and temporary. However, in female-calf groups, the behavioral change may be greater and longer lasting. This study shows that when using small vessels for behavioral research, disturbance, and recovery should be measured to ensure integrity of data used for other analyses.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:25:08 AEDT ]]> An experimental study of failure and softening in sand under three-dimensional stress condition https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:4728 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:21:50 AEDT ]]> Reversible pH-triggered encapsulation and release of pyrene by adsorbed block copolymer micelles https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:4447 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:18:06 AEDT ]]> Effectiveness of interventions to improve social participation, play, leisure, and restricted and repetitive behaviors in people with autism spectrum disorder: a systematic review https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:22874 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:12:58 AEDT ]]> Assessing the interactions between micropollutants and nanoparticles in engineered and natural aquatic environments https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:38651 Mon 29 Jan 2024 17:49:32 AEDT ]]> Celebrity versus film persona endorsements: Examining the effect of celebrity transgressions on consumer judgments https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:42383 Mon 22 Aug 2022 14:57:28 AEST ]]> Leadership effectiveness through coaching: Authentic and change-oriented leadership https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:54177 Mon 12 Feb 2024 10:03:02 AEDT ]]> Astrocyte remodeling in the beneficial effects of long-term voluntary exercise in Alzheimer's disease https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:38402 Mon 06 Sep 2021 16:41:33 AEST ]]> Coronary dynamics in unrestrained conscious baboons https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:12671 Fri 27 Sep 2019 15:57:40 AEST ]]> Global DNA methylation and cognitive and behavioral outcomes at 4 years of age: a cross-sectional study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40011 p > .05), though the estimates of effect were consistently negative.
